Hancock High School Seniors Receive almost 6 million in Scholarships

The 292 students of the Hancock High School Class of 2012 have received almost 6 million in scholarships offers. The administrators and teachers have continued to put much focus on college prep while the guidance department and students have been diligent in their efforts to attain scholarships and have met with much success. Besides college scholarships, many academic, leadership and community awards were given as well. Hancock High acknowledged students chosen for the prestigious Hall of Fame.

David Jack Hale, left, of Waveland utilizes the handicap accessible doors at the Bay St. Louis-Hancock County Library to exit. Hale says May is National Mobility Awareness Month. He said the purpose of the month-long celebration is to educate the public that people with disabilities constitute the second largest minority group in the U.S.

Matinee in the Bay set for Thursday

Hancock County Library System:

The next Matinee in the Bay movie is set for Thursday, May 10 at 2 p.m. in the Seal Room of the Bay St. Louis-Hancock County Library. The movie is based on a true story about a man who has just lost his wife. In a bid to start his life over, he purchases a large house that has a zoo. The zoo is need of renovation and he sets about the work with the head keeper, and the rest of the zoo staff.

Popcorn will be served.
